Default Barnegat bay Fluke report.

Drove down Friday evening and tried some casting from a pier on the north end of the bay. Fished for 2 hrs didn't get a touch. Launched the boat in Waretown early Saturday morning and slow picked some shorts and small blues. Finished around noon and wound up with 1 at 20 one at 18.5 an 18 incher and a few shorts. It was a slow day for us but we scratched up some dinner.

We got out again Sunday and Monday and I wanted to share what was going on there for anyone that might be interested. The bite we had was all about tide stage, when the bite was slow the deadsticked wonder rig caught best for us and the fish mostly shorts hit light. When the fluke started chewing we had a very good keeper ratio, the little cocktail blues cut into strips and added to a jig was a game changer for us. My friend Danny got a 26 inch 6.75lb this morning which is a good fish for this area

For us it was the start of the outgoing, although we never tried the last of it, which may have been better? Good luck if you go.
