Default Keyport Seahawk - 1st Bass blitz of fall 2017 for us

I started off freshwater fishing since captain 'jojo' johnny had to work saturday morning. the fishing was average at best so when John said he could get out at 2:30 and the fishing should be good with the outgoing tide and south wind all matching up with us getting out there, i packed it up and drove across the state to meet up.

I wasn't totally sure it was going to pay off, but good thing i trusted him enough to give it a shot cause it was on like donkey cong! BIRDS EVERYWHERE! bass slurping up bait left and right. mixed bait from small bunker to full size adult bunker and stripers from 20-mid 30 inch range all together.

I lost a nice one under the boat and snapped my line setting the hook on another one that felt like a brick wall. lures and line everywhere. i snapped two more lures off on the cast when the line caught my finger. I was a mess, i couldn't compose myself. I think i was over excited. at least i didn't fall out of the boat.

We had our two regular keeper limit and released a few more that size and some smaller ones. all in all, a really great, short window, afternoon session.

yeah gerry it was pretty windy saturday afternoon too and a little choppy, but they were feeding great!

kcritch, it would've been easy to kick me off the couch to go fishing, but this was going from fishing to fishing haha, if freshwater was better than average i probably wouldn't have made the pick up and go.

...it's this madness we fishermen have that gets the head spinning and the heart racing and keeps up coming back for more!
