Default Rr sm 10/15/2017

Hit the Ribber on Sunday with the wife for a couple hours just to finally get out. First time fishing in months. Ended up with just one smallie but at least it felt good to catch a fish. The wife had a little better luck with a decent smallie and LM which is always fun to find in that section of the river. My fish was on a 4" green pumpkin Yum Dinger and the wife got both of hers on a 5" Sweet Tater Pie Stiko. They seemed to be random cruisers as we were not able to find any areas with fish holding together. Had a few really small guys grabbing baits and running with them but they were too small to get the hook in their mouths. Had the river all to ourselves too. Nice to be back at it at least.

They love the sticks of plastic. What hook you using? I like to keep it small so I can hook up with them more often.

I use a 1/0 offset worm hook (not wide gap) for the 4" size. These little guys were just grabbing the tail of the baits and holding on. Usually if I'm throwing the 5" I use a 3/0 wide gap worm hook which really helps with the hook up ratio...I'm targeting bigger fish when I use that size though. The wife was using the larger Stiko just because that is what was already tied on and she didn't want to retie.

Good to see you back at it uncle Ken!

And her fish isn't bigger. She just has smaller hands! Right? That'd be my story haha...

Good stuff bud.
