Default Navesink Crabbing 8/20

You know when you have the itch for Blue Claws an Old Bay, nothing else can scratch it. Wife worked in the AM so it wasn't an all out effort but we picked up a dozen and a half nice big Jimmies in two hours. Hand lines and Chicken did the trick.

Itch is scratched and after taking on $450 worth of fuel on the way home (ouch) going to run to the Mudhole today to see if the Mahi are around.

Crabmeat stuffed Mahi fillets on the menu tonight, hopefully.....

As a side, I got thinking how fortunate we are to have such a diverse fishery here in NJ... I fished a lot of places but it's hard to beat the variety of fishing we have. Now if they would just lower our property taxes, we might be able to continue to live here.

Thinking the same thing Gerry . Looking at the registration of boats moored at my marina ,there is Pa,Del, MD, and NY and of course NJ . That seems to me ,speaks volumes .

Only one lonely Mahi today. Trolled as far south as the Monster and water was dingy. It was actually nicer to the north and west so headed back that way trolling between the pots. No love on the troll so we pot hoopped and had one take a live Peanut. Wouldn't you know as soon as we get that first fish the wind picks up making it way to rough to continue pot hopping. Back on the troll and nothing...

Watch handling raw chicken, and do not dispose of raw chicken in the bay. Bunkah kept in da cooler works just fine.
