Default Hallie Loren 7-16-17. Offshore

210 mile round trip Sunday looking for Tuna. We saw nice life with many sea turtles, Dolphins and Tuna chicks on bait but no tuna or other tasty Pelagic's. We found warm water 82 deg surface temp far offshore 230' deep and took a swim. It was cooler 10' below as we dove under. We hit several spots , Glory Hole, triple wreck , chicken canyon, Bacardi and close to Texas tower. Beautiful
Weather and clear blue water. No fish flags to hoist up the outrigger so Chris's too small bathing suit had to go up

We also made the run yesterday. looking for shark at the chicken. Set up and had fins in the slick right away. After two hours we had a line go off with a butterfish on it. Released a 100+ lb Hammer. We had 4 rods set with mackerel and bluefish, and one with fluro and a butter. We had 4 other bump & runs that never stuck. All hits were on the butter. From there we trolled over to the AP and down the glory hole. Nothing for our efforts. Still, a great day on the water. burned 108 gallons of fuel all day. Home in time for a chicken dinner

Sounds like you certainly put in the effort!

We decided to do a shark trip yesterday. Hit a spot in the mudhole a little inshore of where you guys were fishing. Had one brown shark and 5 or 6 spinner sharks by noon. Called it a day early. Ugly green water. From the charts, it looked like the green stuff was all the way out past the tower.

How far off was the blue?

It was tough for everyone yesterday. Had to get away from the traffic. Covered almost 190 miles total for 1 bft yesterday

Water was nice from the Glory Hole to the Bacardi, 82 deg surface temp by 2pm. Light wind and no chop
