Default 8/18 The Whiting were Biting and we has a Fling with Ling

8/18 Another fantastic trip on the Annie B with Capt Nate from the Eastman Fleet in NH. Greeted with good weather and conditions headed out to the grounds, this would be my 3rd trip in a month and it didn't disappoint.

A one stop drop day, started off strong with Ling, coming up 2-3 at a time, the Ling were stacked up to about 7' feet and the Whiting were holding above them, so you had to come up 5-66 cranks to get them.

Pretty much a drop and reel day (in 350-375') all day. Whiting were again mostly Kings and Ball Bats, ling were of real good size. I pretty much mixed my bag as we love both at home.

Had to put up with a little rain about 6 hours into the trip, but that's what Grudens are for and the fish didn't mind. One of the guys hooked a Blue shark as it slammed his whiting as he was reeling in. We were hoping for a nice eatable shark, as Nate has the dart ready. Oh, well.

The fishing has been great, and size quality it better than when NJ was in it's hayday.

Well worth the ride, prime time is July through to Sept.

Well another weekend of smoking, yeah Buddy!

When you do these trips do you bring your own rod and reel or use the boats? I know you are fishing deep water. I am planning to go up there this summer and not sure if I should bring my own gear or use there's.
