Default Rightaway 5/28 Sea Bass

Got to the dock bright and early to see Captain Ed and Big Ed in the parking lot. Little did I know that Captain Ed's mate would be catching a few extra winks this morning. We had a nice ride out this morning. Once we got to the grounds, we picked away on the drift. Mixed sized fish from 5"-18". I had first limit around 8 AM. By the end of the day, we had a boat limit. Not slammer fishing, but steady with good quality keepers in the mix. I think if we could have drifted all day, the catching would have been faster. Other than sea bass, there was a big flounder caught, a big pinfish released, a few keeper sized tog released and 2 jumbo silver eels kept for fish soup. I think clams had the edge today, but quite a few fish were caught on gulp and even diamond jigs.

The mate did do an excellent job on the fillets. Maybe the beauty sleep helped.
