![]() Hello all,
Just joined the community and love all the information on here. I recently purchased a Pflueger Supreme XT spinning reel paired with a Fenwick HMG 6'6" medium rod and was wondering on what line to put on it? I live in Somerset county and lately I have been fishing at Spruce and Ken Lockwood for Bass and Trout. Thanks for any recommendations. |

![]() Does the reel happen to come with two spools?
It's tough to combine a river trout reel with a lake bass reel. For the KLG and rivers you'd probably be best served with 4lb mono. For lakes like Spruce Run 4lb test won't cut if for the bass. You'd probably want to go with 8lb mono, or a heavier 20lb braid with a flouro leader anywhere from 8 - 15 lbs. |

![]() Two very different types of fishing. Ultra light or light rod for KLG with a 1000 or so sized reel. 4 to 6 lb mono or fluoro would be ideal. For spruce, medium or medium heavy rod with a 2500 to 3000 sized reel. Heavier mono or braid as already suggested. 15 to 20 lb braid has a 4 to 6 lb mono diameter so you can really pack a spool. Fish the braid with a mono or fluoro leader attached by either a small barrel swivel or good line joining connection.
