Thumbs up Raritan river 4/16/17:

Started at Robert St. Got a real nice 15" rainbow right off the bat. Found I didn't have my net, standing in the middle of the river, quick release, no pic. Went up to the car and got my net, moved down where the old dam used to be, got a few cookies cutter rainbows. Imagine that, I was able to catch fish without a dam there, I must be some kind of miracle fisherman or something.
Moved down river fished Peters Brook access in Somerville and hit the huge holes behind Torpey and near Manville, nothing. Popped in at the ladder falls for a brief time, nothing.

Lightbulb Re: Raritan river 4/16/17:

Had a big frog keep me company in Manville. There must have been a river clean up in Raritan Borough. At the ladder falls I found a kids bike, a broken rod and a package of raw chicken. I don't know what they expected to catch with raw chicken, Blue Claws ??

Nice! I like your landscape shots. And glad to see u hitting the fish. Jigs as per usual?

Some people just fish with what ever old food they have that went bad, I know some friends on the big lake who use stale bread like power bait And actually do pretty decently considering

The chicken was probably for catfish.
