![]() Could have fished any river or lake in the tri-state area but I chose the (new) Raritan river. So much cleaner than it ever has been before. Didn't catch anything but that's ok by me.

![]() I fished under the bridge that leads to South bound Brook at least a month ago and got nothing either.
Wading down east where green brook empties gets pretty deeper and I found that there's some vegetation around those parts. It's hard to find any pools where the water slows down enough, wouldnt you agree? |

![]() Actually in a river I am constantly looking for cuts and seams. Deep water is probably the easiest to fish. After fishing the Upper Big D and East and West branch I am amazed of how shallow the water (trout in particular) live in.
Large rivers can be a tough nut to crack sometimes, and the Raritan is no exception. After seeing Shucker pull the big Hybrid out of 2 feet of water I am convinced that deeper isn't always necessarily better. Last edited by AndyS; 12-13-2016 at 05:05 PM.. |
