Default Small PR Pike

Went to my usual spot on the Passaic and it was a muddy mess from the water flooding and receding. After an hour of no action, I decided to explore and try to find a new access point. Found one with a nice clear trail through the woods which rewarded my short hike. Little 20" pike and had a smallie quick release itself right at the waters edge. Fun day.

Sounds fun-- nice fish- and yes the Passaic looked extra chocolately- drive by it longingly going to work

Raking leaves with that hammer handle? Jesus man. At least rinse it off before breakings it's jaw, tearing it's gills, removing it's slime coat and getting in the essential 20" pike picture.

Yeah, for some reason when you're fishing from land they tend to flip all around in the dirt and leaves when you take them out of the water. "Breaking the jaw and tearing the gills" is a little much, don't you think? I did my best to quickly unhook, photo, release this pup. Took off on it's own 2 seconds after I held it back in the water. Next time, I'll put up a pic of it swimming laps in a white bucket for ya

I was pulling your leg bud. Not every fish landing can be a perfect 10. I've done my share of shake and bake

No worries, Jigman. I know your words were coming from a good place. No matter how good we think we are, there is always still room for improvement. Thanks for the criticism.

Where on the Passaic? I fish the Passaic in Chatham and have only managed Pike in the winter. Water seems too low right now.

Pretty far from you, buddy. Bergen County section of the river after it joins up with the Pompton River but before the Saddle River feeds into it.
