Default Roosters Flukin 7-20-16

Back to the Knoll this morning where last week Tom and I picked up two nice keepers and a ton of shorts. NorthEast winds did not disturb the drift as we waited out the tide landing many Doggies and Skates. Change of tide was time for a move to the ocean where the dogs and birds followed and kept us busy till the Fluke showed up near the Nude beach. Drifting South and staying in water depth of 24’ to 16’ there was plenty of action with short Fluke with two keepers to 20”.

Two keepers may not sound like much, but Tom and I are going out many times during the Fluke season, and we headed in about noon. The water seemed quite warm as there were many swimmers in the very clear water. Killies were choice bait along with Sea Robin strips as the doggies are really abundant this year. Pete

We had similar results Wednesday in the afternoon. Conditions were not great as the places were we had then last weekend we had a 3 knot drift. Lots of shorts, 3 barley legal keepers all bucktailing with gulp. Bigger fish seem to be holding deep still.
