Default Round valley 7-13

Sorry for the late report/Mia-had to work
Went with a friend to try round valley- beautiful- caught a few good perch- some small to medium rock bass and sunnies- saw a giant bass( no lie probably 9lbs plus- state weighed one in the last survey) cruising the shallows- took a look at my grub, then left. Also saw a laker- same thing- could see that lateral line- very pretty, like a carp-trout look from above- then worked out into the deep drowning bait- lost one- not sure if a swing or a miss- will head back in fall or spring when the lakers are in close. Fished till 3 or so- then got down poured on for a while

Did any one ever see how clear the water is there? 12 feet and you can see bottom- not much shallow structure for lmb thou. Even the pan fish were deep

i was out there too that day swinging for the fences fishing big baits deep for lakers in the duranautic. think we might have cruised past each other a couple times. no luck for me. lot of really long follows, fish just swimming next to the bait for minutes, before taking off.

you can see down way farther than 12'. i didn't run them on this trip bc i wasn't trolling, but last time out i had no problem seeing my divers which were about 30' down and 50' behind the boat! the water is insanely clear... no tributaries, so nothing suspended in the water except when they pump it in.

the water is still down 10+ feet from full pool. docks are still out of the water and you have to back the trailers off the concrete and onto the lake bed to launch. thick vegetation along the exposed shoreline now.

I d rather underestimate as a fisherman-keeps me honest

We're u out in the deep? We went by the dock- then a 2-3 hour drift across the deep parts-blue skiff- u get follows on baits or spoons?

The water at round valley is the most pristine i have ever seen in a NJ body of water. Definitely an awesome place!
Sounds like you did very well!
I have only fished the place once and caught a few largemouth bass and bullhead catfish.
