Default Party Boat Angler Thursday Good fluking w/ limits

We had some very good fishing today a ton of 17 inch fluke and plenty of keepers mixed in. Roger a Sea Tiger regular went 3/4 day today. I see why he goes 1/2 day as he had his limit early. He ended the day with 9 keepers and the pool only keeping 5. He fished the bow but the stern was also hot with Mike catching 6.

I took a picture of the death ships that killed the channels. The strange thing is that they did it on low water, normally they use the channels on high tide.

BIG POOL NOW $2070.

Galley open tomorrow.

7:00 AM first boat out.

Thanks Captain George

I'm curious as to what these ships are doing - is it that they disturb the bait in the high water?

Question Re: Party Boat Angler Thursday Good fluking w/ limits

I wonder if them fish bury themselves in the mud or swim up the side of the channel edge for awhile to get away.

why doesn't over a hundred boats fishing the Reach shut it down then? The big props aren't that close to the bottom and most ships aren't moving that fast

The draft on those ships could definitely be 30+feet easy it's not really that far from bottom especially at low tide. Could mess up fishing and I guess it does

I don't think fluke run from prop wash - we fished by Sand Master in Ambrose literally sucking up the bottom and it never bothered the fishing that we could see

I was really curious what Capt George's answer was

The channel is around 40 feet and the draft on these big ships is 10 to 12 meters which puts them very close to the bottom in all but Ambrose channel. If you were at a bar-b-Q and a 747 flew 10 feet over your table I bet you would quit eating for a while. George

Might be a dumb question but,...aren't the channels maintained specifically for the commercial shipping? And we just sponge off the structures the channel created for them?

Like the people who build houses next to the rail road tracks. Later they want the rail road tracks removed because it lowers the value to their home.. lol
