Default Prowler5 - Sun. July 10th - 11 lb. Fluke - Biggest One So Far

Hey gang, I had the boat out today with John, Chef Mike and Shane for my crew today. I had a fare amount of customers today for a Sunday, although I had four fares get off to get on the half day boat as their other three guys were stuck in traffic. Bummer there... they were regulars anyway, so they will be back. I had a couple of guys on the boat that fished with me on the twilight trip last night and got their limits. Although, it was different today. I started up in the far back in the channel where I like to fish. Banged away at keepers with hardly no movement the first drift. Something like 25 keepers and our biggest one of the season so far 11lbs. Finally got a nice one this year. Chef Mike did a nice job getting him head first into the net. But I got impatient with no drift and left the area. Maybe I should have stayed. But I went to where we caught all of the nice keepers at the Navy pier last night. Had a drift there but it was all basically shorts... a keeper here and there. Some did better than others today. Regular Jerry up in the bow had 12 shorts - no keepers. My other good guy Pete up in the bow didn't have a keeper. I would rate it a slow day. I wasn't happy with it. Too bad we didn't get a drift on the first drop because I know we would have caught them good. Capt. Jimmy Rivelli made it out on the first wreck trip of the year tonight with a decent amount of customers. A lot of the same guys I saw last summer. Hopefully they do well tonight. They have good conditions tonight. John and Shane are out tonight as his deckhands. P.S. Capt. Glenn, Chef Mike and Shane will see you in the morning. Hats off to my first deckhand John Chiavarini. Just worked 21 straight trips including tonight's trip. Will finally get a day off tomorrow, Monday. He told me to work him hard and that's what I've been doing. Thx., Capt. Scott
