Default panfish smackdown at the rock

went back home to splitrock today got there at 6:45 am went to spot #1 tied on a god bless AMERICA JIG and it was game on fish hit in 12 ft and 6 to 8 ft of water, outside edges of the points. they wanted it retrieved real slow today.the res is olny down 6" the water is still on the cool side and clear. still a beautiful place thank god. i fished the front and back sides great day to be out there. i caught 1 lmb 14",5 perch all were over 6",23 crappies 8 to 14",35 sunnies some were over 8" with attitude they just crushed that jig.of course a slime dart made an appearance little bastard tore up my jig,had to put another body on he was only 11" and a clean hands release on a decent size smallmouth that threw my smithwick back at me when i went to lip it. not too many people out there for a sunday

That place is a gem. As scenic as it gets for NJ. As for the sh*tty access, I say they keep it that way, keep the goons away!

I'm with you on that. I know the state wanted to put another parking lot and a boat ramp there. There was some blowback from the locals and others who like it the way it is.

Hoping the state forgets the idea of a ramp. I'm not sure where that stands now though.
