Default Big Moon Gator

Hit the river with the lady last night in the yaks. Got a later start than I prefer at around 7:45pm...magic hour. Chucked a big topwater along a shallow weedbed and got absolutely crushed by this fish. I thought it was a smaller fish until it made a drag peeling run towards the middle of the river. Awesome fight, got me totally drenched in the process. Thick belly on this 36", which is my biggest of the open water season this year(got 3 36's through the ice). Quickly released and swam away strong. She was missing a portion of her upper jaw from a previous battle but that didn't slow her down . By the time the dust settled and I dried off, the sun was getting low. Managed 1 Largemouth before packing it in around 9. Being that the night bite on the big lakes is stupid late now, more weeknight river trips will be on the agenda.

Boom Shakalaka!

Those weeds have it looking the right kind of swampy right there. Nice fish.
