Default Help a brother out...

Just arrived here and new to the New Jersey freshwater scene. Looking for areas around the joint base to fish. Bass, cats, picks doesn't matter to me. Thanks in advance!

Aren't there stocked lakes on the base?

Stock trout once a year and they are fished out in a month. Everything is from the shore right now. I've been to assunpink not very shore fishing friendly. Amphibious lake is very miss and not so much hit.

there are still trout in the base lakes. Don't let them fool you. I've seen a 3.5 lber come out of there. Send me a pm I live 5 mins from the 2 base lakes. I have tons of good spots. I might let a few secret spots out.... Mostly just bass lakes

You may find this somewhat incredible but I saw a 5 pound largemouth come out of the little pond right behind the Class VI/DunkinDonuts store right on the Joint Base. This was around 1700 one day last Autumn.
I'm a saltwater guy so I haven't fished it but I have seen more than one guy there when I'm picking up beer.
