Default Twilight brids 5/30-5/31/16

Got out around 1045/1100 last night. The lake was DEAD quiet. Saw tons of big largemouth in shallow but nothing committed. Herring action started to pick up and by 1 am it was bombs away. Slurps, blow ups, breaches and explosions all over the place.

Switched from my standard go to and opted for a spook Jr. Had fish miss on my first 3 casts. Few casts later had one stick. 18" hybrid.

Kept walking the dog and working shoreline covering a decent amount of ground. Had three more smaller hybrids in the next 30-45 min. All within 10 ft of me. Slowed a bit so I kept moving.

Switched back to the standard lure and got whacked fairly quickly. Pancake hybrid about 13" wtf?!? Lol. Ok... I've had enough. Started walking back towards my car and about 50' in front of me a feeding bonanza started. Tossing old faithful I get nipped then blasted. Def not a brid. Landed a 20" largemouth. Let's keep moving.

Right by my car I start hearing another bonanza. Walk about 20 steps down the shoreline and launched a bomb of a cast into a series of boils. 3 turns BAM! I'm on. Immediately knew it wasn't a dink and it dumped about half my spool of 20 lb braid. Took my time and got the fish to my feet. Chubby specimen that taped out to 25" on the button--a new pb for me by .5". Snapped a pic, revived the fish and off it went... and so did I. I'm shot today. Like really rearly shot lol... it's worth it though.

Tally: 6 hybrids 1 largemouth. Pics below.

.

Looks like an awesome night. 25" is huge for a hybrid.

Be careful of bears wandering around in the dark like that.
