Mushin - 5/13 Blues and 5/14 Cod

Capt. Ray had Mushin out with the Gallin Contracting charter on 5/13 in search of oceanside stripers and blues. He found the bait and saw a couple of bass rolling on them, but no hookups on the livies. Moving further north, they joined in on the bluefish jigging to bend the rods for the guests, including a couple from Britain who have never fought a fish.

Capts. Alan and Chad had the crew out on 5/14 to explore for some jumbo cod in the 50-60 mile range. We knew of a decent bite on the pieces a little closer to home, but wanted to see if we could hit a home run with the big cows on a couple of secret offshore spots. Well, we found the motherload of the ever-endangered ocean pout and doggies...honestly, the baits were devoured by doggies and the biggest pout you can imagine, so we only picked a handful of quality cod on the offshore pieces. Running back closer to home, we sifted through a bunch of short cod to keep a handful of them, and released a couple of big tog too.
