![]() Went to upstate for the weekend. Got to barryville around 6 pm on Saturday and figured don't waste the day so went for shad for the first time ever. Got 3 of them and lost a bunch. Fun catching those guys! Now still to catch, pic, and release my first Muskie. Bought a tackle bag with a bunch of Muskie lures and spinners with a rod and reel combo and net all for $200. Any advice on hopefully catching one would be greatful, you can even pm me if you want.

![]() Congrats on getting shad they put up a nice fight on the light tackle, for Muskies you'll have to cast until you're arm falls off, They are known as the fish of 10,000 casts. Good luck in you're search for 'em. Throw gigantic spinners and jerkbaits for them. And if you have a boat? Go to any heavily weeded areas. They will be right there in the middle of them.

![]() Ya I had one last year on Halloween by accident fishing for walleye and she spit the hook at the net but I'm determined that I'll catch one!
