Default A big zero on Clinton.

Was out on Clinton Reservoir today and nothing doing. We trolled for trout about 3 hours down 20 feet on lead core, flat line. Spinners, Binskys, spoons, Rapalas. 4 lines in the water, 2 on planer boards and nada. We then drifted for 2 hours with a worm on a slip bobber, free lined shiner and casted too. We were marking plenty of fish down 10-20 feet but nothing was biting even though we tried to keep our lure in that zone.

For the last hour switched to our bass rods and tried chatterbaits, jigs, suspending jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, dropshot plastics and still nothing.

If it's any consolation nobody else we spoke with either fishing on shore or by boat caught a thing.

It was freakin cold out there when the wind picked up but a beautiful day to be on the water, so it was still a successful trip.

I fished a small lake yesterday that three weeks ago was full of activity - bass, pickerel and sunnies. Not even a sign of life yesterday. Not even a tadpole or newt was seen. I guess 24F morning will do that. Very odd spring so far...temps will get better. Looks like sunday- tuesday next week we hit the 70's. Can't wait!

Well I'm sort of glad not to hear the usual, "Ya just missed it, the bite turned on right after you left" story.

I heard about the closing. I'm not sure why the entire road will be closed, since they are only repairing the bridge from what I was told.

Yep, when I saw your post I felt a lot better about the terrible skunking ! usually we can still scrap up some smaller bass on bad days, but yesterday was literally nothing.

Just made a call and from what I was told the repairs to Clinton Road
are after the reservoir so access should not be restricted.

Interesting, when my buddy picked up his permit last week he was told by the guy in the office that Clinton Reservoir access would be closed for 3 weeks. Maybe they changed their minds.
