hit the river again last night and boy was i surprised by how high it was running. was gonna go on sat but i figured give it some time to come down from all the weather last week. the river needed more time i guess

. anyway.. fished from from 7 pm to 10:30. total of 5 walleye and one 18" class smallie. had 2 other smallies on but they jumped off. of the walleye 3 shorts, one just keeper and one 20" class. i changed it up today and threw a crankbait most of the time. that accounted for at least half of my hook ups. in the end started using a swim shad to get a little deeper and got a couple more hook ups. river was so high but there was a ton of bait swimming in the bushes

. most fish caught from area's that would be dry land had the river been at normal levels. just kept the bigger walleye. nice to see all the mixed sizes of fish. bodes well for a healthy population
