What can I say title says it all.

Probably not the smartest decision I have made but hey, fishing is fishing and I was in search for some late steel.

Left on Thursday night sick as a dog but nothing that some Jack would not cure. Hit up, Pulaski, Oswego, Rochester, Olcott and Erie, PA.

To sum it up was a beautiful time to be out. Never been in that area this late so had no idea what to expect. Changed my tactics to a floater nad pretty quickly realized it was time for me to invest in some fly rod and reel. Almost no one was in any of the locations we have travelled. Fish was around but extremely picky on what they were willing to chase.

To clear the suspense away I have skunked at all of the locations. Learning how to use a floater was definetly one of the reasons why and not having a proper rod and reel was the second. That being said had a few hook ups but fish won every single round. Lost a nice steel on imitation salmon egg (bright yellow neon colored) Had no net on me and would of landed the sucker since he got away right when he was at my feet. Lost some bows on the wax worm and one coho salmon on egg sacks. Also managed to loose something on live bait but cant even speculate what it was. Was using a salmon fingerling for bait since I got frustrated pulling one after another of those little suckers.

Overall a very long trip with nothing to show for it except some new knowledge and sore throat.

Oh I am sorry I didn't skunk. I did managed to get one sunny out. 1 Sunny. That's what I have travelled 1200 miles for.

And here combing through reports looked like all had a very merry Christmas. Great job to all.

Well, well, well! Your alive ehh old buddy. Sounds like you went on an adventure halfway across the world. Those late season Steelhead can be tough to figure out but they're in the water somewhere. Well at least you got out and enjoyed the weekend. The weather has been glorious recently! See you soon. Any pics of the sunny???

Oh I know they are tough to work with but man you should of seen the ones that were being caught.

15 lbs was the best of the the trip and that was one pretty fish. I was surprised that not a single brown was caught by anyone. Cohos, steel and bows were only ones being pulled out.

No sunny pictures sorry. But I still want to know what hit salmon fingerling since it was a very solid hit.

And good to see you still kicking as well.

Andre
