Default Striper migration?

Mannnn, it's been fun in the bay, started off for me a couple weeks ago with bigg bass now I seem to be putting on tons of shorts and now bluefish. Here's where I'm confused. My uncles inlet is in Moriches long Island west of Montauk and there's zero reports out of that area with the exception of fire island which is no where near as hectic there as it has been here. Did they pass right by? Is there much more to come? Meanwhile reports out of Massachusetts say they're still killing it..any opinions or straight up knowledge please feel free to share..I'll be back at it Saturday and Sunday! Good luck every body

Guessing where to fish is part of the game although good friends and good research make it easier to find where to find the fish. We all saw the schools of bunkers in the "Bight" all summer and hoped they would still be around in Sept. and Oct. They stayed and the bass found them. But, where did the bass come from? The big body of bass that showed up off Mantoloking and Seaside just appeared out of nowhere. In the meantime, there was no mention of that same school of bass making an appearance in the weeks before anywhere from the Hook to Manasquan. Did they make a bee line from Montauk or Block Island to Mantoloking? Are there more to come? Will the adult bunkers hug the shore on their way south? There are too many questions without enough answers. Let's hope that if there are more to come, that they migrate inside the three mile limit. The closer we get to December, fewer boats will still be in the water. So, if it's going to happen, let it happen soon. After the first week in December, I'll be strictly fishing from the beach.

There has to be bait in any given area to make the fish stop along their migration south. They did stop in the Sandy Hook area too and invaded the bay and rivers.

And if you are hearing reports from Mass that they are still killing it, those fish should be headed our way over the next several weeks as long as we still have bait in our waters. Fishing could and I believe should last well into December.

The Bunker certainly are still around, next to show up should be the sand eels.

When they start feeding on them, it pretty much becomes a run and gun jig fishery. One your start hearing reports of mostly short fish the end is near.
