Had the chance to join last minute on a trip to the canyons with Capt Denis on Russian Roulette and very happy I got that window of opportunity. Left later in AM through the fog banks and reached the ground mid afternoon Had the fun experience of watching hand lining chunks to tuna and hooking up on them. Treated to a great sunset with some pods of whales basking in the sun, dolphins, and skippys being chased. Picked away at tuna as we watched the fleet of boats stacked up for the day and night. Heard of a few nice catches of big eye and yellowfin. We were into longfin and yellowfin tuna on and off in flurries. Wound up with a couple mahi to top it off. Called it a night and made it back to the docks before the blow began and any chop really started which was a great call, nice ride home and plenty of fillets for the crew. Thanks again Denis for a great trip. Look forward to the next.
