Default OBX Surf Question

Anyone have any success fishing the surf in OBX. Any suggestions are really appreciated. Seems like shark fishin might be an option considering but just looking for any advice on what to use and expect. Thanks a lot

It depends on where you go. We go to Corolla every year in August and the only productive surf fishing is early am & pm with small Croakers and stuff. If you go south past kitty hawk you can catch Mackerel and Kings off the docks. You can book a charter pretty much anywhere, but watch your wind forecast it kicks up quick. They also spear fish fluke in the shallows at night which is pretty cool, buy its pricey.

If you want to switch gears head over to the bay and do some Blue Claw crabbing. Last time I was down we went for an afternoon and had a few dozen using hand lines and a dip net.

A few years back in July we went to OBX and we fished Nags Head pier and we caught several Cobia and Croakers. Lots of fun.
