fished an ns out of point yesterday for some sea bass.my son and I started jigging at the first spot and it was game on.they were on the jig like it was their last day to eat.we boxed our share of nice biscuts .I am talking with my son when all the sudden I get whacked.set the hook and the line is coming of the reel.i first thought bluefish but it was not it was a 11lb blackfish.gave her a kiss and let her go.great day on the water

A very nice surprise... You must have soiled your pants when you were expecting a sea bass to hit that.

A few years back we were drifting the Rocks live lining bunker and a friend was working an AVA at the same time and he was constantly hooked up on the Sea Bass... A fun way the catch them for sure.

I love jigging as some of you know.whether its tuna, stripers or whatever I always go for the jig.a few years ago I was out on a bottom fishing trip and a
guy next to me is slaying the sea bass on a ava 27.i asked him a few questions and ran and put one on,the rest is history.the most fun fish to jig.they are very aggressive and a great fight on light tackle.
