Default Fish Monger II Weekly Recap Seabass Seabass Seabass to 5.35lbs

Hello All

Sorry for the late reports been busy finally with a nice stretch of weather n enjoying the great bottomfishing on both the am and pm trips. More days than not the fishing has been very good but we have had a couple of slower days esp a couple the south wind blew but even the couple slower days we wound up with nice catches and plenty of fillets. The size of the seabass has just been incredible this year with lots of fish over 3lbs up to a our biggest over 5lbs More ling winter flounder and cod mixing in too. plenty of blackfish getting tossed back.

Last weeks recap

Tues 6/9 Seabass to 3 3/4 lbs - Weather turned out ok but def a Slower bite than the weekend for us today. Come tight on the anchors n u would get a little shot of fish but that would b it. Couldn't pick on anything for any amount of time. Keepers were again nice size but didnt have the short life or as many bites as I expected. Any way we bounced around n the crew fished hard and Wound up with 74 seabass n 10 ling 1 cod. Wanted more but made the best of it. B back in the grizzle tom.

Wed 6/10 -pics tell the story good action all day 11 man limit of 165 seabass couple dozen ling a flounder and a bouns fluke. Had to work for em but the guys were rewarded w a full box. Hi hook had 35 keepers (orl ) beautiful day on the water .

Wed 6 /10 Pm Seabass - Well headed right back out for a pm trip but the steady bite we had in the am fell apart with the south wind which was got pretty gusty. Looked inshore offshore... just didn't see many bites and certain spots it was just gizzy life n weenies. Keepers we did get were nice size but not nearly enough. Wound up with 40 keeper seabass and 6 ling. Back at it in the am...

Thurs 6/11 Seabass Boat (8man) to 5.35lbs! On our way in with another big load of seabass! After yesterdays slow pm trip they were hungry n waiting this morning. Impressive quality for inshore with Charlies jumbo breaking 5 lbs and a whole lot in the 2-4lb range. Guys had their limit by 1030 full boat limit ( 8man ) of 120 Seabass by lunch time. Also had around 20 ling.

Thurs 6/11 Pm Seabass Limit (7 man ) to 4lbs- Back out this afternoon for another seabass trip... Life was right where we left it. Quality was excellent again had a bunch of fish over 3 lbs n a couple of 4 lbers. Ocean got sloppy off the beach w the south wind but we just dealt with it... picked away everywhere until the guys had a limit in the box despite tough conditions. Henry used a jig and beat em up good he was high hook with 25 keepers (orl) and all his fish were big. Joe Zagorski had a bonus keeper fluke and didn't lose his rod! Nice afternoon

Fri 6/12 Seabass Boat Limit (8 man ) to 3.5lbs! Back to the grizzle the seabass were waiting. Quality again very impressive mostly all nice size keepers. Good life and blasts at em... Double headers etc... Pounded away and the guys had there crew limit by 11:15 checked out a couple other spots for life tomorrow to end the day and top off a full 8 man boat limit of 120 Seabass... Weather n Crew Were Great thanks again guys

Sat 6/13 Seabass - Well today was a much slower bite for us than we been seeing. Picked some nice fish in the am but after that it was just a few everywhere ya went. Had alot of current today that we didn't have yesterday. Put a catch together but not as many as I wanted... The crew worked hard for 90 fish in the box. Back out now on the pm trip checking out a different area.

Sat 6/13 pm Had Jason n Crew along for afternoon. Looked a different direction n found much better life. Alot had to get tossed back but weeded thru em n plucked some nice keepers. Guys finished just a couple short fish shy of their limit. Plenty of nice fillets to go home with and it was a gorgeous afternoon like glass.

Sun 6/14 Seabass n Ling - checked out a different area today awesome life with loads of doubles but unfortunately most were shorts prob was 10 to 1 picked 30 nice keepers from it but was just to many 11 &12 inch fish.. went to another area looking n just picked one here one there along with a fair amount of ling. Nothing great just a grind pick.. So the guys fished hard for a nice mixed bag box of 140 keepers ( 80 Seabass and 60 ling ) Nice day on the water

Thanks Everyone!!!
