Sent my friends son off with a bang
My long time friend asked me to take him and his son fishing before his son ships off to the navy on Monday. What was I gonna say to that, let's go!
Loaded up for fluke and blues at Pete's and launched out of kmb. Was in touch with some board members and was not hearing good things. Lots of wind, few fish. We bounced all over the bay for the morning with no results but some bonding time before mike goes to basic. Got a call from a GOOD FRIEND that they found some fish. Not close but we headed out of the bay to improving conditions. Got on station and my friend gets his first bluefish ever. I reccomended he hand it to his son. Now his son is fighting his first blue ever. After a nice fight he landed it and said can we keep it. Of coarse, blead and on ice immediately. His father hooks into another one and I told him to fight it because I was now in on my very light bucktail rod. I hand it to the squid and he fought it for a while and had another in the box. The next hour or two we picked and plucked keeping thee for the table. I was hoping for a better bite for them today, but they had a blast, each fighting three or four fish. We all enjoyed a great day on the water that they will never forget. Please notice "my friend' in the background. Thanks for the call. Great way to send him off!
