Default fishing marathon

wife was away this weekend so i fished until i couldn't feel my brain anymore. unfortunately it didn't pay off with much catching.

started off friday after work for some pike. I previously Frankensteined myself a spinner bait that was large like a store bought musky/pike one but much lighter so i could hover it real slow over weeds and structure rather than burn it through. I must say it worked like a charm. I caught 5 pike up to 32" and one 20" pickerel that fought like a 30 inch pike! Minus the time to get to my fishing spots i probably only fished for about an hour or so including the time to unhook and release the fish caught. the water isn't too warm yet they all swam off quickly.

i rushed back to meet mike for an all nighter...i don't want to talk about it, what a frustrating night haha...no fish to report of except mike's average crappie on bait and my snagged on a lure herring!

got home early morning and slept it off trying not to have nightmares of all the exploding fish around us that wouldn't bite. Then decided to head over to a private lake to knock the cobwebs off my bass fishing for next weekends contest. good thing i did cause that lake was nothing like i remember it. they killed all the weeds with chemicals and it's not a sludge pit as far as i'm concerned...anyway i managed to put a pattern together kind of at the end of the day and caught 2 average bass and i also hooked something bigger but never saw it...hopefully he'll come back for me next weekend!

sunday i hit the salt for a slow day but not too bad, i'll post that on the salt section later today.

idk what the hell is wrong with photo bucket but the bigger pike is attached on my last reply, it won't put it up here for some reason...

Ahh, love the marathons. Fishing til exhaustion, then waking up to go right back at it. Nice Pike!
