![]() Jeff put up a previously unscheduled cod trip mid week and since the forecast looked good and my work schedule looked good, jumped on the trip.
I did okay with six barely keepers (22 inches and north) but from what I can gather, the boat did very well. Someone mentioned the pool fish went 37 lbs. And plus, around where I was up in the bow, I saw fish come up that looked to be at least mid 20's if not larger. A quick advice. If the congers are thick, just fish the high look. I wasted half the trip bailing them congers one after another. The fish were spitting up sand eels, but I saw not successful with the jig. I think there were a few caught on jig, but it is mostly a bait bite right now. BTW, the new Voyager is much larger, faster and more comfortable. |

![]() din't see or hear of any sea bass. i think we were 30 to 40 miles off shore for the 3 drops we did for the day.
last year there were a bunch of large winter flounders that came up on these trips but not on this trip. |
