![]() Got at it w dale and Kelly fri night. The mission: landlocked linesiders. On the water around 11 pm, things felt and sounded promising. No wind, overcast, light drizzle. It smelled fishy. Fish were blowing up everywhere. First up was dale w a small but chunky largemouth. Shortly after he nailed a long hybrid. Solid fish. Up next was Kelly as she casted from the bow... Bam! Thickest fish of the night. Prob a solid 6 lb fish. Then we hit a very long lull but kept casting. I finally hook up and drop the fish near the boat. Dammit. Keep casting. Hook up again... Dropped it. Wtf!?!? Keep casting. Meanwhile, dale hooks up again, fish goes ape shit and we net a solid fish. I'm getting antsy now and dale is doing his damndest to keep us in position. Then I get blasted. Missed strike. Few more casts, bam! Another one on. 10 seconds into the fight, pulls the hook. You've gotta be kidding me!! Now it's raining harder, the clock is ticking and I know my window is closing for the night. I keep casting. Then boom! Another hook up. Thankfully this one stuck... In more ways than one lol. Net the fish, get it on deck, and I grab the long nose pliers to extract the lure. I dunno how it happened with long nose pliers and me being my normal careful self, but the fish flipped and shot the front end of the plug outta the net and buried a hook thru the ring finger on my right hand. I lip the fish, ask dale to cut the treble from the plug, remove the hook, Kelly snaps a pic, I release the fish. I look down at the finger, assess how deep it went and dale asks "is it in the bone". Thankfully it wasn't so he suggests we try the old string removal technique we've seen in YouTube vids. I position my hand on a side storage box, dale wraps the hook, angles it properly, asks if it hurts lol, then wham! Pop! Out comes the hook and the high fives lol. So not only is dale a good guy and quality fisherman, he's also a pretty good on the water mechanic and surgeon. After that we called it a night as we were soaked and it was 330am. Good times aboard the getanet 2!!!
Here's my fish and treble laden finger. Kelly has the rest!

![]() Like certain things in life Andy, it's all about the angle lol. Downward pressure on the hook makes a clearer path for the barb I guess. It was the first time I've ever buried a hook in myself. Hopefully the last!

![]() Nice Stripes!! Glad everyone got some action!!
Last time I buried a hook in my hand was getting the gear out of the car at the first spot we hit that day, go figure. Dont even know how it happened. Definately wasn't gonna call it a day before we even started so I got out the pliers, took a deep breath, and ripped it out!! ![]()

![]() Ouch man. Glad everything came out ok. I had a similar experience with short strikes on Thursday night. Very frustrating. Going to put bigger books on the Zspook for this week.

![]() Crazy night aboard GetANet for sure! Expected much better results but came away with a few fatties! Kellys was def the thickest fish for sure. we tried several types of lures but only the majic bait was workin it's vodoo! The hook removal at 3:00 am in the rain with 12lb test was quite a nerve wracking experince for both the doc and patient. I said "Do you want me to try and get it out or else it's a trip to the ER. So we decided to give it a go. The look on my daughters face was pricless as we proceeded to remove it! Wet hands and sight not the best with details I took a deep breath as well and felt I had the angle right and just yanked! POP out it came and smiles and high fives were flying all
around the boat!!!! Wait till he gets the bill for that one!!!!! Here's a few pics from the night of a few of mine and Kelly's fish, ENJOY!!!
