Default $120,000* multi tournament super calcutta for Veterans

NJ Shark Tournament Fishing just got more interesting!! As the organizer of the Warriors for Warriors Charity Shark Tournament benefiting veterans and as a guy who really likes tournament fishing, I came up with the idea of doing a multi-shark tournament super calcutta that can create a very large payout and also raise money for our veterans suffering from severe PTSD. This is essentially kind of like a multi-state PowerBall Lottery, where HUGE money is available for the winner AND we are also helping veterans. I have spoken directly to the organizers of Warriors for Warriors (me and my committee), Brett Bailey Mako Rodeo, Mako Mania, Mako Fever and South Jersey Shark Tournament and got feedback that this is a great idea.

Here is how it works; Calcutta is $300 per tournament fishing day across all the NJ shark tournaments. 75% of the calcutta money goes to one winner and 25% of the calcutta money will be donated directly to Operation Restored Warrior, a combat veteran operated charity where 95% of the money goes directly to putting veterans through a week long program to heal them from PTSD, restore their hearts and their lives.

We set a deadline for entry payments on June 10th 2015, which is the day before any of the NJ shark tournaments start. This way, everyone who enters, is in prior to the start of the first tournament. The full rules are available at our website http://pages.warriorstournament.com/super-calcutta/, where you can also purchase your calcutta entries.

If you fish multiple tournaments, you can enter/pay for a Super Calcutta ticket for each tournament you want to have the opportunity to have a shark qualify to win. In other words, each tournament could offer you another chance at the big price. If you enter two different tournaments on the same day, you only need to purchase one of our Super Calcutta tickets to have the opportunity for your shark to qualify to win. For example, the Warriors for Warriors and Brett Bailey Mako Rodeo are on the same day. In that case, if you enter both tournaments, you just have purchase one Super Calcutta ticket for that day. The South Jersey Shark Tournament is a format of fishing two out of three days. If you fish two days, and want to have a shark qualify on each day, you would have to purchase two ticket. With Mako Mania and Mako Fever, they charge entry fees for each day fished. As such, you would pay for a Super Calcutta ticket for each day you fish in Mako Mania. However, if you fish both Mako Mania and Mako Fever on the same day, say Saturday, then you only need one super calcutta ticket for that Saturday.

The full rules on our website should explain the specifics. The winning shark and fishing days will be validated with the tournament officials as needed. I will have a page on the website that shows how many boats entered and what the prize money is, as soon as possible after the deadline. Prize money will be paid our in July on a TBD date and location that will be posted on the website. Social Security number will have to be provided by the winner as tax forms will be provided.

For anyone who might feel any concern about doing this all via the internet I want to provide the following points. My name and personal phone number and email is on the rules form on the website and below in this post. I am a local Brick resident with a successful track record now for running the Warriors for Warriors Charity Shark Tournament and raising money for Veterans. Operation Restored Warrior could be contacted and they will confirm our relationship and the donations made in the past. Lastly, since the tickets are purchased via credit card, if anything happened that was not above board, the fees can be disputed with your credit card company. As such, there is no risk, only benefit to the participants and to our veterans.

This is the first year for this Super Calcutta, which, with the support of our patriotic fishing community who loves to compete to win money, can get bigger and bigger ever year. We hope to grow in the future to perhaps have a $200,000+ payout for the winner. Please consider supporting and participating so everyone can have a chance at even more tournament money while also doing a GREAT thing for our Veteran Warriors who need our help.

We have revised the rules to make it across the board that the minimum weight to qualify is 150 LBS regardless of any individual tournament stipulated minimum that might be higher. We want to make sure it is equal opportunity to win across the board. If you are a competitive shark fisherman, you should really do this super calcutta.
