Default 5/30 early morning fluke raritan bay

Got a nice early start today knowing we had to be back at the dock at 11am.... 3 of us headed out of keyport around 545 got setup around 6. Started out fishing squid kelly combo and squid spearing combo.... had some action right off the bat with a few sea Robins and couple short fluke. Made a drift and my buddy starting using a 5in white jerk gulp along side a spearing and he wound up with 5 shorts and nice 21 incher for the cooler. My dad got a few shorts then switched up to the jerk/spearing combo and put a 20 incher in the box.... I was hard headed (and by this time we were out of gulp) stuck with the squid combo and got myself a sea Robin and a blue. All in all a very nice day out there and that was my dad and buddy's first keepers of the year so I was happy to put em on the fish. We were drifting in about 18 ft of water starting about 3 miles off keansburg pier. Lot of traffic out there when we were heading in so hopefully that don't turn em off

Thanks for the report. I was up that way yesterday and we tried for stripers at first, nada only blue fish. Switched over for fluke and nada again. Nice day on the water though.

Fished the bay this morning too. Landed a fat 20 incher that was released
