Default Wacky smack down

I want to thank you all for the advice you gave me. Lets just say it was very helpful.

I headed out yesterday after work. Had fishing fever all week since i didnt get a chance to fish over the weekend. So I took the advice given to me from you great guys and went to the lake. I wacky rigged a Baby bass color senko and it was game on. I tossed it in pockets where i thought bass would be and they were smacking it left and right. Most hits came as soon as the thing hit the water. I have to admit i havent had this much fun i a while. Really changed my whole outlook on soft plastics. and to think i almost gave up on them.

I mean it was so good that there were other fishing around me but all they did was watch me pull fish out left and right.

Things i learned though was wacky rig is a killer and easy hooks sets. i started with a t-rigged senko but bass kept spitting hook or i could not get it set.

Thanks again. Only took one picture to much fun.

Very cool glad you got into them good...Unfortunately you now have the Senko Disease! Those things just catch fish. I always have on tied on and fish it to a fault..becasue it just works too often not too..It's defintiely a love hate relationship! Welcome to the club!

As an added note...I use the Bass Pro Shops Stik-o's and they work just as well in my experience and cost a lot less. Green Pumpkin, Black with Blue Flake and sometimes Watermelon with Chartruese is about all you need in my book.

in most situations those bass pro shop stick worms will do the trick definitely. I even pour my own and they work just great most of the time. Though i always carry a pack of a few of my favorite color gy senkos if i'm bass fishing...maybe it's just in my head but it gives me good confidence!

Your next soft plastic should be the swimbait rigged weedless you can fish it over lillypads or just below surface in the pockets, if the fish are even slightly active they are killer fun and less mind numbing than the stick worms. although if the fish keep hitting you won't fall asleep fishing the stick worms. I usually make 2-3 good casts into the structure or small area let it sink, twitch it let it sink. no hit, i move on to cover water. the swimbait will let you cover more water, but if the fish aren't active or on certain days... you just can't beat the stick worm with very little motion.

I do find the Stik-o's to hold up a little better. But it's the soft consistency that gives them the action so you gotta have it.

Chrisper - I carry 4" GY Green Pumkin Senko's all the time...for the exact same reason! When I think about it they are probably no better than the BPS 4" Green Pumpkin but when the going gets tough I still switch to them GY's just to make sure. That's funny.
