Default Saltwater Regulations

Ok, so here they are for New Jersey.

http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/pdf...maregsum15.pdf

For stripers you get a regular one and you get a monster. Fluke is 5 fish at 18 inches May 22 until September 26. Sea Bass is 15 fish May 27 until June 30. No September fishing. Then we get up again from October 22 until December 31. Then we have Blackfish 6 fish from November 16 until December 31.

So, after fluke ends you have a solid month until sea bass opens. What do you do if you are a boat owner? Go for your regular striper and your monster striper? Bluefish? Porgy? Ling? Here is another issue. That October 22 opener for sea bass will be short lived for your regular day boats. Right? The sea bass will move offshore at some point. Too far to go for the somewhat inshore boats. The Gambler can head anywhere. But what about the person who would like just a nice inshore trip for about 6 hours like on the LBI boat.

I don't think this is fair. I think its the government trying to put this industry out of business. The same saying can come up over and over again since Obama was elected by some of the folks on this site and who are angry at the regulations. It's Change You Can Believe In!!!!!!!!!

The Doris Mae is done. I'll say it once again for all of you who know fishing boat history. The Doris Mae is done. Unfortunately, who is next? Who is next?

Change you can believe in!!!!!

Thumbs down Re: Saltwater Regulations

I think all of the regulations stink but the Sea Bass regs really hit home for me. I have been fishing Saltwater since age 6 and I tell you all these terrible regulations are a big turn off! With these regs I will be certainly making less trips this year. But I guess that's what they want !!

im fine with the striper regs, i think itd be better if they just left out the 1 over 43" but whatever, everything else just sucks for south jersey bay fisherman, we miss 3 weeks of good flukin in may, our only chance at a keeper sea bass in early october and can only keep one tog until mid november, tog dont stay in the bays much later than that most years it seems like, i can deal with the size limits but the dates are what bother me the most
