![]() Melbourne beach is about a 20 min. ride from my house. Beautiful day with 86 degree weather and a light west wind at our back. Got out the sand flea rake and in a couple of pulls had all the bait we needed. They bit good and the two of us had our limit in about two hours. Good fighters and even better eating. Parking and beach access are both free as well as the bait we caught. Expense was one gallon of gas for my truck! This is in my price range lol

![]() Even the launch ramps are for free. There is always something to fish for here but don't get me wrong, fisheries management has hurt this state also. Grouper and Red Snapper are regulated to a point where Red Snapper is only open a few days a year. Grouper season is closed in the winter when all the tourists are here. Watched a program on tv the other day about the commercial red snapper fleet. They caught so many red snapper it was amazing! This all hook and line and electric reels. They were coming up ten on a line. That was the Gulf side. Same shit different state. Healthy fishery and liberal to the commercial guys and screw the recs.
