Thumbs up Trout report 1/25

Went out today on the pequest with my buddy. Weather was awesome... Fish didn't seem too interested in much. I nymphed for quite awhile, then switched over to my ugly stik elite with fresh wax worms. Caught a beautiful 19 inch rainbow. That thing fought like a bat out of hell! After a photo I released it, gave me a nice tail smack with a nice cold face full of water, and off it went. Hit the long valley brew pub after. All in all a fun day before the storm hits us. There's definitely gonna be some nice holdovers to be caught in the spring! (I've released quite a few in that river) tight lines everyone!

Nice job!!!!put in the time and work and reap da rewards.....
Sweet release too....plenty of times in cold water the fish will key in on
Larger meal options....it's more efficient to expend as little energy as
Possible while only moving to eat a larger reward type meal...while this isn't
The growing season, that's how big fish get bigger....ingest more energy than they expend....another reason why large fish during heavy hatches can be found
In the best lies and softer water.....try throwing a larger stonefly imitation...that fish on the long rod will be twice as nice....
Sweet job picking a great day to get it done:-)

Good job. Some of my most memorable trout outings been with snow on the ground.

Thanks guys! I love cold water stream fishing. Been tough w the constant temps in 20s and overnights of 17-28. Had some killer days with light snow and temps in the mid 30s. The fish today made the cold toes worth it.

Very nice looking bow.

Way to put in time to get them.

And then the spring will come again.
