FISH STIX - 1/11 Blackfish
Sunday 1/11 ran with an all star njf crew of 6. First stop on a wreck. I warned them, be ready for the jumbos! Once the sinkers hit the bottom.... Had 2 REAL fish on that managed to get away
 . Picked a few fish then Pretty much died after that. Wiggled over to another piece of the wreck to catch a nice fish and some dogs. Did catch a very nice cod though. Took a gamble and tried closer to the beach. That was stupid. Ran 10 miles south and it was dead. Couple shorts, some dogs and a small pollack. I gotta give to the guys braving the wind, cold and rough conditions. They wouldn't give up. I know Cuz I begged them to! Lol. Anyway finished up with 6 keeper blackfish and a cod. Not what I expected. Again, woulda been nice to land 1 of those slobs. Looks like we are packing it in for the season. We are taking reservations for all of the 2015 season. It just wasn't our day. That's why they call it Fishin not catchin I can't believe my wife washed my lucky hat that had to be the problem

Like every year 2014 was a good year fishing with you guys. We had some great bass fishing, you got me to fluke fish and catch them.... well only that one day and we had a few good black fishing trips and a few bad trips but the days laughs were good.
See you guys in the spring. Enjoy the time off with the family.

The weatherman was right on for the forecast yesterday, NOT! Cat. Kris made the right move to head South before it started blowing hard out of the South. Tough day but it was fun. Managed 2 keepers. Thanks Darren for being right there every time, even adding new top shot to one set up and tying rigs. Great fishing with you guys and good luck with the new season.
