Her fight is almost over

As most know, mom has been battaling aggressive cancer for the last year. She has neared the end of her fight as we just moved her to hospice. She is afraid and in pain and we are now praying for a quick end to her fight. We have told her it's ok to let go and start her next journey. But as she was all her life she is stubborn and is having trouble letting go. She is now sedated (I hope until the end). I am 47 and lucky enough not to have lost anyone close to me so this is doubly hard.

We have decided that when she leaves her body we will have her cremated and scattered across her favorite place on earth, Disney.

I just wanted to thank all who have kept us in their prayers. Especially my brothers Gerry and Joey for all their support.

Please pray for a speedy end, or beginning.

Both your mom and yourself are in my families prayers. Death is unfortunately a part of life. Be at peace knowing that her suffering will be over. Sorry for the pain that both of you are experiencing.

Steve , you mentioned your age, and that you had yet to experience this.. Its little comfort I am sure, but understand that many,if not most of us have been through this, and we understand, and really do know what you are dealing with. Its one of those rare times, that others can really say truthfully,
"I know what you are going through"
Many of us older guys have lost both parents, both inlaws, brothers, sisters, even children in some cases.. As we grow older we go though it more often too. Always a tough thing to endure, as you well know.

Its no fun, its something none of us wants to deal with, but we see it through,we grieve, and then we move on. You are not alone, its a universal part of life. We see our loved ones pass on, and then one day we face our own mortality... Its just life.

Been there and it just sucks. Dont know whats worse, watching them suffer and the sickness from the chemichals or watching them die.
I will say the end is a good thing as this disease is nothing anyone wants to live with but the end is the end and ots not any easier.
Just remember the good times you had with mom those days before x mas.
