![]() here's my first fish of the new year on the first fishing trip of 2015. i didn't get to go exactly where i wanted and honestly we did more driving and looking than fishing but i did manage a nice looking little rainbow. hey it was a nice winter day in my book and i'm 1/1 no skunk in 2015! haha
btw i got the underarmour infrared coldgear socks...wow my feet in sneakers with these socks didn't feel a tad of cold all day. Rest of the time i was in neoprene waders and completely comfortable. |

![]() Nice fish dude.
I was curious about those socks. I've been going thru wigwam wool like a mad man dropping coin on socks that I only hope will keep my feet warm, and I have yet to find a pair worth it's salt. Are they worth the price tag? Nothing worse than cold feet...

![]() my toes go first every time and my boots are decent. kamik nation plus or something like that, not the best but pretty good. anyway my red head socks weren't getting it done. i got the underarmour infrared coldgear and just to test them out i put them and only them on with those boots fishing in the boat last week when it was pretty damn cold and i only became slightly less than perfectly comfortable in the last 2 hours of sitting in the boat all day. 17 bucks for one pair but they seem to get the job done for me. I have some merino wool wolverine socks that i can put over them if i think it's going to be brutal cold

![]() Way to start off the new year. You get what you pay for in socks, go cheap and have cold feet or buy the good stuff and have warm feet.

![]() Part of keeping your feet warm is keeping the blood circulation going. Keep your core warm, dress smart... avoid wearing anything cotton and keep moving!

![]() Always great to start the year off on the right foot (and in your case, the right warm foot)! Nice fish, hope you get lots more in 2015!

![]() merino wool is the best, hands down. ive got a pair from clam that makes my feet sweat in my ice boots, and a few pairs of Rocky's that are merino wool, and are perfect temp with my insulated boots. I dont think any cotton or blended socks can compete with merino wool

![]() I have had great success with the Smartwool extra heavy over the calf socks. Cost you about $25. Dicks or Ramsey should have them in stock.
