Default South Branch Beasties 12/28

Hit the upper south branch near Califon in search some monsters and i was not disappointed I had my best day yet.Fished some tricky spots with allot of overhang, tons of prickly bush and steep banks and I was all alone...Perfect.I started picking fish right away all rainbows from 12"-26" all on jigs.First big fish hit the jig and went upstream peeling of drag then did a tarpon jump and went back downstream before I subdued her,I rough estimated her at ~24" 5-6lbs and back she went.I thought that was my nut for the day but an hour later i hooked into a bigger one that was like fighting a steelhead up and down the river multiple jumps and lots of drag burning, this one was bigger at ~26 and heavy maybe 8-10lbs.

You hit it just right, all the pieces came together. Overcast, not too hot not too cold, rain last week, gotta love when that happens, nice fish !!

Talking Re: South Branch Beasties 12/28

The magic jig strikes again!!!! Was it the same one allllll day? Thanks to the fine group of people that stocked the trout in that area. Without them we'd still be catching the dinks and natives, which are adorable! Nice job my friend! Where's BUBBA???
