Snaggers Paradise - Burts Dam - Olcott, NY
Ahh the weekend,
Its strong the salmon blood the goes through my veins. Well as you al know this year was my first year fishing for Salmon and it looks like I simply cannot get enough. This weekend special. Burts Dam. So after Salmon River I decided to 18th Mile Creek for some more Salmon as well as some trout fishing. Man I thought it was lots of people up at Salmon River. Boy I was wrong. Pretty much had to fight for every spot marking my territory up and don the stretch. Since I did not know any holes on the river I just made my way toward the dam and fished all weekend there. Man I have not replace my line so many times in my life before. 20 and 25 pound lines were snapping left and right. To make my life even better my rod snapped in 3 places. Never seen anything like this before but our group of maniacs kept on fishing. Fish porn is coming but here is the total in numbers for the weekend Between 4 of us (only 3 fished) we picked up about 15 browns 3 bows and 10 kings. Most were released back to fight another day. Best part of the trip.
Once dam was turned off, water level dropped like crazy. All I see is someone's dog chasing salmon in the shallows. I think it got a couple which was awesome to see. |
