Reel Class Friday 8/8 Fluke Report
Had a 4 man crew today and was greeted by a gorgeous ocean early on. Nice NW wind, and a nice drift were what we had early and most of the day.
First drop was all shorts, second stop was 4 keepers on one drift, then shorts thereafter (ks were all nice fish over 20" to ~6#).
Made another move in on the beach and found basically nothing, so we then shot out to where we caught them in the rough stuff last week (when the wind laid down) and had some action with a couple more keepers. A call by a friend finally put us on a solid bite of shorts and keepers, and for 2.5 hours we had nice action with a mix of shorts and keepers making it to the boat.
Wound up with 13 keepers and 2 ling, almost all of the keepers were NMR's and were between 20-23" with the top fish being around 6#. Nice day fishing with finally some decent action!
