Default 8/2 Fluke Masters tournament results

Based on some intel we ended up going to area we normally fish that produced several fish in the 7 + lb range they day before rather than heading east like we had planned. Weather forecast changed dramatically from they day before which when I checked was e winds at 10 knots. Well that changed dramatically as morning forecast called for SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY. Made right around sandy hook and conditions got progressively worse as the day went on. Steady rain and 5-7 ft seas made it a difficult day to say the least. The 31 Contender handled rough seas with no problem and still was able to run at 25-27 knots. The thing is a rocket ship. Had a great crew of 5 and was only able to manage 13 keepers total I believe. Total 5 fish weight was just shy of 18 lbs (no Bueno). Looking back we should have stayed with initial game plan as we were only one of two boats I saw out there. My worst day out there keeper size wise as I only managed 2 keepers which bought average down to 6.333. First time in many years was feeling sea sick out there which made it difficult to focus on my thing. Hopefully got worst trip out of the way and looking forward to bigger and better catches.

Pretty sure I saw you as I was going back north. My mako is tough but that sucked. Even the wind sock didn't help much. We weighed in for the hell of it at just under 20.
