Party boat angler 8 1/2 pound pool winner
We had good conditions to start the day and had some real quality fluke come on board. Ron Konchaski from Union had the biggest at 8 1/2 pounds and there we other 5 to 6 pound fluke. We stayed with it catching a few nice fish each drift till the tide slacked . We fished Ambrose for one drift and found some shorts in the deep and a handful of keepers up the side.
The South wind came on so we made it back into the bay where we finished the adding some more keepers and shorts to our catch. One of the best things about sailing from Atlantic Highlands is being able to catch fish with a strong Southerly. We should be in good shape the next few days when it blows out of the South. Over all I would say today was OK for some but slow for many with a high hook of 4 and others with 3, 2, 1 and none. I am looking forward to tomorrow especially sailing at 7:00 AM. Thanks Captain George Angler |
