Default Hotreels Charters report

Haddock and cod fishing remain good, the cod action seems to have picked up for most boats which is good news! Lots of market sized cod the past few trips. We have been doing more striped bass fishing lately because it is red hot! Many fish in the 36-45'' range right now. Catching them any way you want. Jigs, trolling, and live mackerel have all been working very well. The tuna front is still a little slow. School tuna have not showed up yet, only a limited number of giants. We hooked the first Giant north of Chatham last Tuesday. A slob of a fish at around 110''. The fish ate a live mackerel out of my hands 10 feet from the boat! A half hour battle and we had the swivel out of the water and almost close enough for a harpoon shot when he did a quick head shake and actually broke the hook. We must have had him hooked right in the corner in the bone. Back out for tuna tomorrow morning!

I am going to send gamakatsu an e-mail with a picture and story. Not much you can do though. Such small hooks for such big fish, you wonder any of them work at all!
