Default Marine Navigation via smartphone

Just picked up new s5. Looking for a new gps/navigation app for cruising around in the skiff. I have navionics but has its flaws. Anyone using something newer that they can recommend?

I have been using navionics in my iPhone 5 for two years and have not noticed any flaws. Just curios what your encountering as maybe I'm not noticing. I run my app in addition to on board ray marine chart plotter and they seem to sink. Route tracking wind and tide also seem normal.

What's the difference the free navionics and the one that's $10? I downloaded the free one and I'm pretty impressed with it. I did notice that I lost the red line that points in the direction your going a few times.

Maybe I'll try navionics again. Maybe it was just a glitch on my s3.

I run around in the dark pretty often on my bowfishing rig many times on unfamiliar water. I trust navonics on my phone. Shows pretty good detail and never got me in trouble. I have $10 version and we'll worth every penny

My favorite part is the new track save set up. I love being able to go back and review my track, speed, etc and see what i did, read my notes and track my performance. I also added the two add ons for a few bucks more that give me more definition and allow me to make or pre plan tracks/routes. My current Raymarine set up doesnt track or save anything. so its a nice way to enahnce the current set up for <$20 instea of upgrading the boats raymarine set up at >$5k....

Thumbs up Re: Marine Navigation via smartphone

I downloaded the newest version on my galaxy s5 and it was 10 x better then on my older phone. Definitely came in handy today launching from somewhere unfamiliar.
