Default Musky School on Hopatcong 5/17/14

Sorry for the late report, it took me a while to put the video together.

I had the opportunity to participate in the annual Musky School put on by Chapter 22 of Muskies Inc. After a 2-hour lecture on musky fishing basics, I was able to hit the water with our own catfishonthelake and UglyStick for some on-the-water instruction. We fished Hopatcong hard, but only wound up with a small walleye for our efforts. Still, I had a great time and learned a whole lot about fishing for muskies.

Cool stuff ! Would love to hear more about that great not for profit club on here. I know they bust their butts stocking and working closely with NJ F&G.

Great video. Lots of great info and you had a great teacher. All the days of casting those big lures around and not connecting is well worth it when one of those fish takes your bait. Nothing compares! I especially liked the bulldawg part because I have zero confidence in that lure.

Thanks Gatto. I had no confidence in Bulldawgs either until I caught a fish on one. I really don't think there is another lure besides a buck tail that produces better. I mostly use Mag Dawgs. Great Figure 8 and big fish. Give them time.

This is a really cool video Lard, and you aren't kidding when you said musky fishing is like a job not a fishing trip lol.

Well I can say you guys were fishing in a good spot. We saw 3 large muskies in that area while bowfishing in that area the Friday night before the school. Good video

Awesome... awesome... awesome..... Thanks for posting this Craig... Great time with some great guys... You have a spot on my boat anytime... Looking forward to it... I encourage anyone with an interest in musky fishing to attend an MI 22 monthly meeting... The last Tuesday of every month at the Lake Arrowhead clubhouse in Denville, NJ...
